The Global Fund’s Results Report 2015
17 Million lives have been saved through Global Fund programs from 2002 to the beginning of 2015. This has been made possible by advances in science, innovative solutions and strong global support of the Global Fund partnership. This means that the Global Fund is on course to save 22 million lives by 2016.
Released on 21 September, the Global Fund’s Results Report 2015 shows without a doubt that the Global Fund is a very smart and sound investment for the EU, and a great way to show that the EU is a dedicated actor in global health initiatives. Through its programs, the Global Fund has invested over a third of its resources in making health systems more resilient and sustainable, clearly a global public good that is needed more than ever. On top of that, over half of Global Fund investments go to women and girls, who disproportionately suffer from the three diseases.
With more support, more lives can be saved. Let’s get the job done.
